In what ways might religious conservatism impact the way different groups of people are treated in society?
@9H8J8TLRepublican6mos6MO
i think its wrong and everyone has there right to believe whatever they want to believe in. when forced its not a belief its a burden.
@9H89BHJ6mos6MO
People may be held to standards they don't personally believe in, and that aren't even objective.
@9H97ZN76mos6MO
I believe that making laws based on one particular groups religion is a violation of peoples person rights
@9H8DTXS6mos6MO
Religious conservatism might impact people of other religions being shamed or harmed, and having another religion pushed on undecided or just other religious people.
@ISIDEWITH3mos3MO
What kind of society do you envision if it was shaped primarily by religious conservative ideals?
A repressive society that destroys social progressivism and is stuck in the past using outdated ideals and texts to justify being **** human beings.
@9K9DTJT3mos3MO
I imagine a Retelling of The Raven or the Salem Witch Trials. Keep religion out of the government.
@9K9FBZW3mos3MO
I don't Invision a perfect society, but I envision a society better than the one we have in today's world. Most Government are majorly secular, allowing for pride and greed to creep in. But imagine if every member of Congress actually wanted better for the people, and looked for the betterment of the people. Where criminals weren't shamed, but given a chance to learn and be redeemed.
@9KBRS8D3mos3MO
Children should be thaught that everyone is equal, and that hating someone for being different is wrong.
@ISIDEWITH4mos4MO
How do you think social media has affected the spread and perception of religious conservative ideas among your peers?
@9JPW4ZN4mos4MO
Social media is a huge platform that allows for anyone to create any content they want. Each religion should be protected and not tainted, or hated on by other communities. An example of this is most commonly Christianity. Its primary hatred or humiliation for this religion comes from the LGBTQ community
@9JPWKYB4mos4MO
It definitely has an affect on the youth. Social media has caused an easy access to information both biased and unbiased.
@9JPW9NF4mos4MO
Social media has made religion more of a political issue
@9JPW9F9Republican4mos4MO
I think media has destroyed everything and everyone gets judged.
@ISIDEWITH3mos3MO
How would you describe the importance of tradition in your life and the community around you?
@9K9Q7CK3mos3MO
I welcome tradition but that doesn't mean I have to follow the tradition. If I wanted to follow it I would but if it goes against what I am comfortable with doing then I won't be doing it.
@9K9DLYFRepublican3mos3MO
It is very important to me, My religion is one thing that will always come first in my life no matter what.
@9K9DZKW3mos3MO
Its good it way for you and your family to talk about and to do stufff out blood did in the past
@9K9DMCJIndependent3mos3MO
its veyr important to be nice to ecshother even if we are different
@ISIDEWITH4mos4MO
When have you seen youth challenge or embrace religious conservative values, and what do you think motivates their stance?
@9JHPP8Z4mos4MO
People should be allowed to believe what they want!
@9JJ3TDLWomen’s Equality4mos4MO
All of these rely heavily on opinions. There is no one definitive answer. If there was it’d be a fact. A book written thousands of years ago does no count. I think people should just believe what they want and leave everyone else alone.
@9JHQ52KLibertarian4mos4MO
They do it all the time at churches, what motivates them is their parents and they see how their parents talk and so they embrase that.
@9JHPHNMIndependent4mos4MO
The youth normally embrace the values of their parents if their parents put them in those settings.
@9JHPWC8Women’s Equality4mos4MO
I think the motivation is how they were raised by the parents and what ideas or opinions was passed down to them.
@ISIDEWITH4mos4MO
How do you practice tolerance in a community with differing views on religious conservatism and modern lifestyle choices?
@9JNYCT24mos4MO
I just let people believe in what they want and make no comments about religion
@9JNXHNNRepublican4mos4MO
I belive everyone should be able to practice their own religion
@ISIDEWITH3mos3MO
Do you think respect for authority is more important in a society with strong religious conservative values, and why?
@9KHXTK53mos3MO
We need to respect all authority and all occupations
@9KHXKQL3mos3MO
yes I think it is,reason one are country is not Judaic Christian country and every thing bad is up depression men have lost reason and life and same for women they have lost hope,perfect example she has no hopes and dreams and is not religious and is always depressed.The high suicide rate of men is because they have lost hope and they seem depressed.Also parents will see that there kids will respect them again.
@9KHX5M3Peace and Freedom3mos3MO
yes i think so because it is important to support what you believe in
@ISIDEWITH5mos5MO
How do you feel when you see someone being judged based on their adherence to traditional values?
@9HXFVPT5mos5MO
I believe everyone has a right to their religion without any type of discrimination so long as it is not physically affecting others in a negative way.
@9HXFJ5M5mos5MO
It depends on the values that are being judged on. If you're willing to say something hurtful because it's part of your "traditional values" then you should be judged on it.
@9HXDYN8Peace and Freedom5mos5MO
Bad for the person because they shouldn’t get judged
@ISIDEWITH5mos5MO
How do you think international relations might be influenced by countries that strongly uphold religious conservatism?
Mixing politics and religion could possibly cause those countries difficulty in foreign relations. They could conflict with another country with religious conservatism over differing views or with other countries they may see as morally wrong because they do not practice the same beliefs.
@9HXF2SX5mos5MO
I think that international relations would be less common.
@9HXDHFNPeace and Freedom 5mos5MO
Religious conservatism principally applies the teachings of particular religions to politics—sometimes by merely proclaiming the value of those teachings, at other times by having those teachings influence laws
@ISIDEWITH5mos5MO
Has there been a time when religious traditions provided you comfort or guidance during a challenge?
there has never been a time where religious traditions gave me any form of comfort or guidance but it could happen in the future.
@9HT83QG5mos5MO
Yes, but I no longer identify with any religion and feel quite the opposite at this stage. Religious conservatism feels oppressive and unfair.
